Jakarta - Harga emas berbalik melemah dari kenaikan sesi sebelumnya, karena menguatnya imbal hasil obligasi pemerintah AS dan ekuitas mendorong investor beralih ke aset-aset berisiko, mengurangi daya tarik emas. Harga emas tergelincir ke level terendah dalam lebih dari seminggu pada akhir perdagangan Rabu (Kamis pagi Wib).Lonjakan infeksi varian Delta COVID-19 yang menimbulkan kekhawatiran atas pemulihan ekonomi global terhenti telah membebani sentimen risiko dan memicu aksi jual ekuitas pada Senin (19/07/2021), tetapi saham dan imbal hasil obligasi sejak itu pulih, meredupkan daya tarik safe-haven emas.“Ada napas lega dalam ekuitas, obligasi pemerintah dan minyak kembali naik. Ini adalah tanda-tanda perdagangan reflasi, yang tidak baik untuk emas," kata Phillip Streible, Kepala Strategi Pasar di Blue Line Futures di Chicago.

Sehari sebelumnya, Selasa (20/07/2021) harga emas berjangka terdongkrak 2,2 dolar AS atau 0,12 persen menjadi 1.811,40 dolar AS. Harga emas berjangka merosot 5,8 dolar AS atau 0,32 persen menjadi 1.809,20 dolar AS pada Senin (19/07/2021), merosot 14 dolar AS atau 0,77 persen menjadi 1.815 dolar AS pada Jum'at (16/07/2021), dan menguat 4,0 dolar AS atau 0,22 persen menjadi 1.829 dolar AS pada Kamis (15/07/2021).Tetapi Streible mengatakan reflasi dengan pertumbuhan ekonomi yang lebih tinggi dan kenaikan inflasi adalah positif bagi perak, platinum dan paladium yang juga digunakan untuk aplikasi industri.Imbal hasil yang lebih tinggi membebani harga emas yang tidak memberikan imbal hasil, karena meningkatkan peluang kerugian.“Kami kembali dalam kondisi push-pull market ini dengan beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi pasar emas secara positif dan lainnya secara negatif,” kata David Meger, Direktur Perdagangan Logam di High Ridge Futures.Kemungkinan pandangan inflasi sementara Fed terbukti benar, terutama mengingat meningkatnya kasus COVID-19, adalah negatif untuk lindung nilai inflasi seperti emas, tetapi kebijakan moneter yang akomodatif dalam skenario itu akan mendukung emas, catat Meger.[br]Kerugian emas juga terjadi meskipun dolar AS mundur dari level tertinggi sejak awal tahun.
